Surasak Khaoroptham is a Director of Lombard based in Bangkok. Mr. Khaoroptham has extensive experience in providing strategic and financial advice to many leading Thai and Southeast Asian companies. He led the Lombard buy-out of Asia Books, acting as Chairman, and serves on Lombard portfolio company boards in Thailand and Vietnam.
Prior to joining Lombard in 2003, Mr. Khaoroptham provided strategic advisory services to Thai Airways and served as Vice President for Credit Suisse First Boston where he was responsible for corporate finance and M&A transactions in Southeast Asia. During his early business career, he spent five years as a senior project engineer at ABB (Thailand), responsible for design and implementation of electrical control systems for industrial and commercial purposes.
Mr. Khaoroptham graduated with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (1987) earning first class honors from King Mongkut Institute of Technology. He also holds a M.S. degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering (1993) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a M.B.A. (1995) with distinction and Palmer Scholar award from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
